About Us

Veritas emerged from a shared passion to improve the accessibility of autism diagnoses with fast assessments and a personalised service.

We are a professional clinical service which specialises in providing ‘Gold Standard’ autism assessments for both children and adults, usually possible from the age of 24 months.

Liaison and Coordination Team

Our client liaison and coordination team are your direct line of contact, and will make sure you are kept informed of where you are in the assessment process. They will ensure your questions are answered and that your assessment is planned to meet your needs.

The team are very friendly, super organised and highly knowledgeable about the assessment process.

Referral Managers

Our referral managers will be your first point of contact with us. They will liaise with you via your preferred contact means, answering your pre-assessment queries. When you are ready they will take your details and add you to our clinical system so that the assessment process can begin.

If needed, our referral managers can arrange for you to chat with a clinical lead.

Assessment Co-ordinators

Next, one of our assessment co-ordinators will take over your care. They will send out your background questionnaires and support you to complete them. Your co-ordinator will keep you up to date with the progress of your assessment, arrange your appointments and be there to support you through the assessment process.

Our Multi-Disciplinary Clinical Team

Our clinical team members are highly experienced and have been undertaking autism assessments for many years. They have worked in the NHS and in the private sector, and know the difficulties people face when trying to access an assessment.

Our multi-disciplinary team comprises of qualified clinicians from a variety of professional disciplines, including clinical psychologists, counselling psychologists, specialist nurses, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. All have up to date professional registration (for example with HCPC or NMC) and DBS clearance.

The clinical team is regularly monitored and supervised to ensure they are practicing to the highest standards.

Diagnostic Experience

The clinical team has undertaken extensive training, with comprehensive experience working with children and adults with neurodevelopmental differences and mental health difficulties. Our experience includes specific training in administering autism diagnostic tools. All our clinicians have a minimum of five years’ experience in undertaking autism assessments, with some having over two decades of experience.

We understand that masking and camouflaging behaviours are common in autistic females, but can also be used by males. We are experienced in assessing for the social nuances in individuals who mask, and we utilise specific tools to identify these behaviours.

Our team can confidently assess individuals who may already have, or require, other diagnoses, such as ADHD, global developmental delay, or learning difficulties. We will discuss all our observations with you and make the appropriate recommendations.
